Dr. Zimmet to Speak at the Annual Congress on Phlebology in Australia

Dr. Zimmet to Speak at the Annual Congress on Phlebology in AustraliaDr. Steven Zimmet is one of three foreign specialist invited to speak at the Australasian College of Phlebology’s 17th Annual Congress in Noosa, Australia.  He will be leading the conference off with a  keynote speech, 3 additional talks and then chairs on a session of treatment and judged scientific posters at this international event. The Congress has also chosen Dr. Zimmet as a judge of scientific posters and a moderator for one of the sessions.

Dr. Zimmet will be honored at the Annual Congress with an award for Excellence in Education. The Australasian College of Phlebology (ACP) was founded in 1993 and is the largest phlebology society in Australia and New Zealand. It is a nonprofit organization founded to improve the standard of care related to venous disease.

The ACP actively promotes education and research in phlebology and serves the general public as a resource regarding vein disorders. Public educational initiatives such as lectures, workshops and media interviews are undertaken by College Fellows on a regular basis, as well as annual international conferences. The mission of the ACP is to improve the standards of practice and patient care related to venous disorders.

Dr. Zimmet’s Focus on Phlebology Education

Dr. Zimmet has delivered more than a hundred presentations at a range of phlebology, dermatology, and laser treatment related conferences around the world. In 2013, he gave a keynote talk at the Annual National Venous Interventional Summit in India. Through his talks and seminars, he has consistently contributed to the medical field and acquired new insights and learning for his own practice at the same time.

Dr. Zimmet has also served as faculty for the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American College of Phlebology, American Venous Forum, Society for Interventional Radiology, German Society of Phlebology, French Society of Phlebology, Canadian Society of Phlebology, and Australian Society of Phlebology.
