Laser Hair Removal and Electrolysis
Zimmet Vein & Dermatology offers both laser hair removal and electrolysis for patients looking for long-term removal of unwanted body hair. Unwanted hair on the face, neck, back, arms or bikini area can be a source of embarrassment to many people who have genetically inherited the problem or suffer from a hormonal imbalance like PCOS. Though popular, shaving, tweezing and waxing are only short-term solutions to unwanted hair. Laser hair removal and electrolysis can offer patients a long-term reduction in hair on any part of the body.

LASER / Intense Pulse Light HAIR REMOVAL
Reduces unwanted hair very effortlessly and is the method of choice. Most effective on darker hair and lighter skin but is effective on all skin types.
ELECTROLYSIS HAIR REMOVAL
Electrolysis is used when hair is too light for lasers to treat successfully.
The laser tip is placed over the skin and a pulse of light is administered. The energy passes through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle weakening its ability to produce hair. After a series of treatments, the follicle’s ability to produce hair is disabled. A large percentage of hairs will never return.
Electrolysis works by targeting the follicle to destroy the hair at the root using a low level electrical current. Electrolysis is effective on any hair and skin type.
By following the treatment and maintenance plan recommended by your clinician, you will see long-term removal of unwanted hair.
