Univadis – Drinking coffee could curb risk for malignant melanoma
There were 762 malignant melanoma cases during 1.7 million person-years of follow-up.
Compared with light consumption of filtered coffee, a statistically significant inverse association between low moderate (HR, 0.80; 95% CI, 0.66-0.98) and high moderate (HR, 0.77; 95% CI, 0.61-0.97) intake of filtered coffee and the risk for malignant melanoma (Ptrend=.02) was observed.
A borderline, nonsignificant association between heavy consumption of filtered coffee and melanoma risk was observed (HR, 0.74; 95% CI, 0.53-1.02). Read more.
