VASCULAR SERVICES
FACIAL VEINS
We treat facial veins with several laser and pulsed light systems.
The DioLite
Laser emits a fine beam of laser light that
is used to remove superficial veins on the cheeks,
chin and nose. The laser light beam
targets the red color of the veins, generally with
little effect on the surrounding skin. Easy recovery
is typical.
We use the NLite Laser,
using the vascular mode, to treat facial
veins. Although the NLite laser rarely causes bruising
when used to treat wrinkles, bruising is common when
treating
veins. Bruising typically lasts several days.
The Vasculight
Plus is a combination of pulsed light and a 1064
laser system associated with minimal downtime.
Patients often experience redness after treatment, although
this rarely lasts more than a few hours. Bruising
is unusual.
ROSACEA
The veins, flushing and breakouts associated with rosacea
can often be significantly improved with FotoFacial™
treatments. This usually consists of a series of 5 treatments,
done at monthly intervals. Downtime generally is a day
or less of redness. Make-up can be used immediately.
LEG VEINS
There are a number of laser manufacturers who claim
their lasers can treat small leg veins. Although we have the Vasculight
Plus, which has a 1064 laser as well as intense
pulsed light, I find that patients usually get better results from sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy is
also less expensive and usually less painful than laser.
