Dr. Steven Zimmet is an internationally recognized name in the field of dermatology and phlebology. He receives numerous invitations from various parts of the world to deliver medical presentations and share his expertise to further the cause of human health. The upcoming 17th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College of Phlebology in Noosa, Queensland will include a keynote lecture from Dr. Zimmet. The keynote will be on the topic “Challenges in Phlebology.”
The four-day ASM in Australia will comprise keynote addresses, original paper presentations, panel discussions, and the popular ‘Controversies in Phlebology’ keypad interactive debates. The event will also include a one day Ultrasound Workshop covering the latest advancements in diagnostic imaging. Dr. Zimmet will engage with leading experts in phlebology from around the world with an aim to share knowledge and experiences for the benefit of his patients back home.
Dr. Zimmet’s other talks at the event will cover the following areas:
- Venous intervention in patients with immune disorders: approach to work up and management.
- Temperature changes in perivenous tissue during endovenous ablative techniques – comparing EVLA with RF.

Dr. Zimmet, Phlebologist and Dermatologist, has been practicing dermatology in Austin, TX for more than three decades. He became the Founding President of the American Board of Phlebology in 2007, and was elected by his peers for inclusion in the Best Doctors in America Database for 2011-2012 for dermatology and phlebology. He has delivered more than 70 presentations at national and international medical conferences and authored numerous articles for internationally-recognized medical journals.
The Australasian College of Phlebology (ACP) was founded in 1993 and is the largest phlebology society in Australia and New Zealand. It is a nonprofit organization founded to improve the standard of care related to venous disease.
