Ultherapy – Visionary Aesthetic Ultrasound

Ultherapy Ulthera Skin Treatment

Don’t let sagging or tired skin stand between you and the youthful, exuberant person you feel inside.  Let that person shine through! We all know about Botox and laser treatments. Now there’s Ultherapy®-a face and neck treatment that creates a brand new category in aesthetic non-invasive tissue lifting.

What is it?

The revolutionary new Ultherapy, or Ulthera, procedure is not an injection, nor is it a laser.  Instead, this FDA cleared system uses focused ultrasound waves to treat the deeper, supporting layers of your skin. This gently heats the tissue to lift and tighten loose skin without cutting or disrupting the surface. Besides the visible effects of lifting and tightening, there is also an invisible result from Ultherapy with the creation of new collagen, which helps the skin maintain its youthfulness.

How many sessions?

Ultherapy is non-invasive and it requires little to no down time.  One-two sessions can result in immediate and long lasting changes, as your skin continues to strengthen over the next 3-6 months. This isn’t a replacement for the dramatic effects of surgery, but Ultherapy offers a natural, ‘no downtime’ approach to noticeably improving lax skin.

Does it hurt?

There is some discomfort while the energy is delivered, but it passes quickly and is a sign that the collagen-building has begun.  We try to ensure that the experience is as comfortable as possible.

Is it safe?

Ultrasound energy has been used in medical imaging for over 50 years, and has been cleared by the FDA. Tens of thousands of treatments have been performed around the world without any significant adverse affects.

How long does it last?

Patients who have used Ultherapy still have young collagen a year after the procedure. The skin does continue to age so yearly touch-up treatments keep up with aging.

What are the side effects?

There might be some redness for only a few hours, and mild, temporary swelling, tingling or tenderness for a few weeks. A small percentage of patients have temporary bruising and small areas of numbness.

Are You a Good Candidate?

Good candidates are men and women with mild to moderate skin laxity. While Ultherapy®is not a replacement for surgery, there are many people who would benefit from some lifting, toning, and tightening but are not ready for surgery. This procedure can also useful for younger people who want to maintain their appearance and put off or avoid the need for more drastic treatments.
