FACIAL VEINS/REDNESS

Spider veins are small superficial blood vessels which appear red or blue in the skin. They are exceedingly common in the face and legs, but they can appear anywhere.

Although the cause of spider veins is not known, there are several factors which seem to increase the risk of developing them. These include genetics, sun damage, hormonal factors and trauma.

Facial veins are a prominent feature of rosacea, a common chronic skin condition.

FACIAL VEIN TREATMENT

We treat facial veins with several laser and pulsed light systems.

The VariLite Laser emits a fine beam of laser light used to remove superficial veins on the cheeks, chin and nose. The laser light beam targets the red color of the veins, generally with little effect on the surrounding skin.  VariLite leaves surrounding healthy skin cells intact while it educes redness of facilia capillary vessels, angiomas, rosacea and tiny spider veins.  Immediately following treatment, you may experience a little redness in the treated area.  However, it disappears within a  few hours.  Typically, 2 to 4 weeks after VariLite facial vein removal treatment, patients will see optimal results.

Intense pulsed light can be used to treat the entire face or selected areas.

Sometimes we use a combination of Intense Pulsed Light and VariLite in order to maximize our results.

A 1064 nm laser is sometimes used to treat larger blue veins of the face.

Sclerotherapy, an injection technique, can also be used on some types of facial veins. Less commonly, treatment with an electric needle is used.

VeinGogh™ utilizes cutting-edge Microburst Technology™ to target small, unsightly facial veins. The incredibly thin probe uses small bursts of electricity to treat spider veins. VeinGogh™ minimizes pain and damage to the facial tissue surrounding the vein area. Ultimately, the procedure is more cost-effective, comfortable, and safe.
