Austin Laser Vein Treatment

The most exciting vein laser treatment is Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) of the greater saphenous vein. This is an alternative to stripping that I believe is revolutionizing the treatment of large varicose veins.

There are a number of laser manufacturers who claim their lasers can treat small leg veins (spider and reticular veins). I feel that the current best laser treatment for leg veins utilize lasers with 1064 nm light. We use the Vasculight Plus, which has a 1064 laser as well as intense pulsed light. Lasers are an adjunct for leg vein treatment. Most patients actually get better results from sclerotherapy.

Laser and pulsed light treatment remain very useful for the treatment of facial veins.
